Our business

The business of French Escape AS is conducted with a long-term view: the company acquires properties which it renovates, retains and lets. It operates with its own funds and on its own account, without recourse to third parties.

Acquisition

The company seeks properties whose value can be restored through well-controlled works: older houses, neglected properties, homes whose layout deserves to be rethought. Each acquisition is based on a visit, an estimate of the works and an analysis of the market in the municipality concerned.

Renovation

The works aim at lasting restoration rather than cosmetic effect. Norwegian buildings impose their own constraints — insulation, ventilation, resistance to cold, treatment of timber — and the company works with craftsmen established in Trøndelag who are familiar with these requirements and with local standards.

Management

The company administers the property portfolio it holds: monitoring of the condition of the properties, routine maintenance, reporting and accounting obligations in Norway. This direct management makes it possible to keep control of costs and of the actual condition of the buildings.

Letting

The renovated properties are offered for letting under long-term leases. The company lets the homes in its portfolio unfurnished, to the exclusion of any ancillary service.
